In the last few days, the distribution of S&P500 stocks changed significantly. No. of S&P Stocks near 52-Wk High --------------- Tue, 12/26 161 Wed, 12/27 178 Thu, 12/28 190 Fri, 12/29 184 Tue, 1/ 2 149 Wed, 1/ 3 125 Thu, 1/ 4 82 On 12/28/00 night, there were 190 S&P500 stocks near 52-week high. On 1/4/01, there were only 82 S&P500 stocks near 52-week high. A sharp drop from 190 to 82 in 4 (trading) days was very significant. During this 4-day period, Mr. Greenspan also lowered interest rates by 1/2 %.
