Maybe music is going to go the way of painting. Nobody is really painting anything great these days. Nobody is writing great classical music anymore either. I used to really like 120 Minutes on MTV - I don't know what you consider Art when it comes to pop music, but I think that Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are pop Art. U2 and REM are even better but they are older. There was a while when there was all this great alternative music - Blur, Oasis, Machines of Loving Grace, Primal Scream, Radiohead, Beck, Sonic Youth, and then all of a sudden there was nothing but 'N Sync and Brittany Spears and rap.
