PTSC's IGNITE I Microplatform Introduced At 2001 International CES in
Sun's Connected Lifestyle Showcase

SAN DIEGO, Jan 5, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- PTSC (Patriot Scientific Corp.)
(OTCBB:PTSC), developer of the IGNITE I(TM)family of microprocessors, will be
demonstrating with Sun Microsystems Inc. (Nasdaq:SUNW) and Cyberonix Inc. an
integrated system designed for Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc. that utilizes
the PTSC IGNITE I Microplatform.

2001 International CES is held in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2001.

Sun Microsystems' exhibit, the Connected Lifestyle Showcase, displays innovative
products and technologies for home management, travel and entertainment,
wireless communications, financial services and space exploration that will
change the way people live, work and play. PTSC is among the leading industry
associates Sun has selected to be included in their showcase. PTSC, along with
other associates, is a member of the Open Service Gateways Initiative (OSGi), a
consortium of over one hundred Fortune 100 companies working together to
facilitate communication between various Internet appliances. The Travel Area of
the showcase includes the first OSGi gateway-enabled devices running in a car
that communicates externally both to an OSGi-compatible gas pump and a service
station operator console, all powered by PTSC's IGNITE I.

"We are more than pleased to be a participant in this first dynamic presentation
of an OSGi application," said Bruce Khavar, president and CEO of Cyberonix.
"This is an extraordinary opportunity to illustrate the way companies with
varying technologies can work together in co-creating a complete application to
benefit both business and the consumer." Khavar continued, "Cyberonix developed
an eGasStation(TM) control system with PTSC providing a low-cost, OSGi-compliant
gateway platform. We are particularly pleased to be working with PTSC as they
debut their IGNITE I technology to the electronics industry."

Dick Blum, president of PTSC, explained, "We first presented the IGNITE I at the
Sun(TM) Dot Com Home Show, a series of five seminars held nationally. We
demonstrated how the IGNITE I enabled an OSGi-compliant gateway in a setting
appropriate for consumers' home applications." Blum elaborated, "At the Consumer
Electronics Show, PTSC will be a major component in a live presentation of the
interconnectivity and fluid delivery of services that will significantly impact
and improve consumers' lifestyles."

Dr. Patrick Nunally, vice president of business development for PTSC, explained,
"The show in Las Vegas is the first time in trade show history that the IGNITE I
Microplatform will be presented to the electronics industry embedded into a
finished product. We are grateful to Sun for their vision in creating the
Connected Lifestyle Showcase. This is an ideal opportunity for PTSC's IGNITE I
to be demonstrated functioning in an integrated business/consumer product,"
concluded Dr. Nunally.

The Connected Lifestyles Showcase will be presented, by invitation only, in the
Exhibit Room Complex of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
