We have a radio program here in the afternoon on WISN radio 1130 out of Milwaukee. They have a football picking contest every FRI. The deal is that if you win, you can take your winnings or move forward. If you move forward you risk all your winnings to date.
They have done this for about three years and no one has ever taken money from the show. They always push on and lose. I cannot remember how the dollars go, but the bigger money is $2,000, then $5,000, then $15,000 then $50,000. $50,000 is it. It takes 8 winning picks in a row, against the spread, to get to $50,000.
They finally have someone that got to $15,000 last week. This week, he decided to push forward and go for it. He picked New Orleans over the Vikings. He got 8 1/2 points on the pick. I am sitting here listening to the game and cringing on every single play and it isn't even my money on the line! Sheesh.....$15K on the table, and he pushes it away and says Go 'Aints.
Heck, I even think they have a shot at winning outright, but dang.....I would have taken the $15K and said thank you very much. |
