Yikes X, I'm voting for that as "Post of the Week". What a fascinating bunch of facts, sad though they may be. First, I'm not surprised to see that such a high degree of violence by an intimate involves alcohol use. I'm also wondering how much of it involves sexual abuse, ie. spousal assault. About the following : You know I read a fascinating study which looked at abortions impact on the decreases in crime we are seeing generally. The author hypothesized that many future criminals had been aborted, because women who did not want children, and who would have been more statistically likely to bear children who would grow up to be criminals, did not bear those children. The abortion stats are troublesome to me.I don't think it's possible to predict that kind of outcome based solely upon the mother's IQ and demographic data. I know researchers have been trying to do it for a long time (and spent years in grad school reading it)but those studies identify correlations rather than having any predictive value.
