Yesterday morning around 9:45 I lost my Cybertrader connection. A server problem according to the message I received when I tried to reconnect. I was long SAPE at the time, so I called the trading desk, and after being on hold for what seemed like forever, actually I think it was only a few minutes, but still too long considering the circumstances, some guy answered. I went through the usual formalities, four letter log on id, Penson acct. number, my zip code, verified my name, really is this all necessary. I told the guy I was long X amount of SAPE, and to close the position through Island. He asked if I wanted to get out at the market, and I told him to just drop down a couple of levels on the bid, and send the order because Island would give me the best price available anyway. He acted like this was news to him, then he asked if I wanted to send a limit order. I told him I would expect so, since Island only accepts limit orders. He finally said the order had filled, and at a profit, lol. Cybercorp claims to have added personel to prevent these long hold times, but anytime I've called the trading desk, I nearly always get put on hold. luckily I've only had to call a few times. Another thing that just blows me away, when you call the trading desk, they have to go to another terminal to execute the trade. Why wouldn't the person be at a terminal, since the only reason anyone calls the trading desk, is to get out of a trade, or cancel an order. Like everyone else here I've about had it with all their problems, but dread changing to another broker, and going through the learning curve of different software.
