Flats, it was on Dennis Bernsteins radio show Flash Points.
the URL of his Web page is

flashpoints.net

I looked in the archives and could not find the show that discussed the energy Crisis, but it does'nt mean that it is not there. Dennis is considered as part of the Radical left. Rather than right or left, I see him as some one who tells the truth. He was one of the few people who accurately reported on the War in Kosovo. Since the show I mentioned in the previous post he has had another show on the subject. He interviewed some one who wrote an article for the San Francisco Bay Gaurdian. The Bay Gaurdian is the poster child ( or at least one of them ) for left wing yellow Journalism, however at times they have good articles you won't see in other places. The fact that Dennis had the Author on his show makes me suspect the article will be accurate although I have not read it yet. Don't know if it is available in other parts of the country. It's like the San Francisco version of the Village Voice.

Nader and the Green Party are urging people not to pay the rate hike. Nader and many other groups are trying to pressure the California legislature to let them go bankrupt so the State can buy them out at 10 cents on the dollar. It's a very popular idea at the moment.

People who I talk to involved in state politics say there is a Huge amount of pressure coming from the Federal goverment to cover this up and the local politicians are not about to stand up to them.

When the story first broke there was a lot of mention of the Bush connection to ENE. Not much since.

I found Greenies rate cut very timely to his meeting here in California. I think Les posted something about the rate hike and the Energy scandal. I'm going to go look for that right now. Sorry for the delayed response my computer has been on the blink.
