Very interesting read. Now I understand why NOK is so anti CDMA - no significant follow on revenue from 3G upgrades. What I don't understand is why any carier would build any more GSM or TDMA capacity just to have to replace it with new gear for 3G. VZ and PCS seem to have a major cost advantage over their conpetitors going forward.

Interesting NOk is advertising its "messaging" capability when according to the reports quoted from VZ, they don't work.

Check out the Handspring phome attachment www.handspring.com . They have licensed CDMA - so the Handspring device with CDMA is k.a. for the current generation of data/messaging. Sure might eat into Palm's sales.
