SAIL and Strata, Still Appear To Be Zeros
I guess you confirmed my concerns on the value of Layton's CEO experience at an outpost of SAIL, which you and others have found to be a not-for-profit foundation funded by the founders of L&H with many outposts throughout the world (at least at one time). (You did not comment on my comments on Strata or OmniVOice.)
See Aglet's post on RB - ragingbull.altavista.com
Let me know when you make contact with a single SAIL employee in San Diego where Layton was "CEO." Was she CEO of a three or four person office of a not-for-profit?
Aglet says in part:
"In 1997, the founders of the Nasdaq and Easdaq listed Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products installed the non-profit institution Flanders Language Valley, now transformed into SAIL Trust....S.AI.L. trust is an independent non-profit organization..."
Now you can call Srata. I got a message saying no one was available, but someone could be paged if needed. I paged, and the man that answered thought Layton was there in 1995. The Strata web page had not been updated since the fall of 1999. Take a look. So here is another Layton CEO stop, and it appears a few years after her departure to be a tiny consulting organization.
Now read the OmniVoice web page old press releases ( lhs.com ) and see that Layton was named president of this L&H thing after L&H was on board, not before as perhaps suggested by the PR.
There, if you have done all that, you are up to date with my cursory investigation and have added confirming information of your own. I look forward to your investigations of Strata and OmniVoice.
SAIL (San Diego) and Strata do not appear to have achieved any substantial success while Layton was CEO. GMGC appears to be her fifth stop in the last six or seven years - Strata, Ameritech, OmniVoice, SAIL, and now GMGC. |
