Poet only replied with a questionable private message because I first sent her one asking for a reasonable explanation for being banned when nothing improper was ever said in any of my posts on that thread..... I guess that says it all, her little feeling were hurt somehow by this thread and she took it out on me...<g>
Poet has only succeeded in demonstrating her own individual stupidity... I suppose many years of bad company and street drugs can do that to an individual..... I pity her kids.....

until this moment, i respected your opinion, at least in financial matters.
with the above, you have, at least in my eyes, lost any credibility from the human point of view.
i will also say, i am NOT a liberal. neither am i what you would call a "conservative" and certainly not a right-winger. if the local supremo wants to ban me, that's fine by me.
i am amazed, to say the least, how the "conservatives" cry foul about "limiting freedom of expression" and yet with the same mouth, many of the more extreme types, want to FORCE down one's throat their "moral standards", (and even religions). based on whose authority ?
don't answer that, i am simply venting my own frustration at all these "differences"
i just need to say the following:
you have no right to insult Poet the way you have. because it is simply out of line, and further i doubt you know anything about her that would substantiate what you said above.
i have watched this debate between conservative and liberals long before SI and the creation of both threads. personally i think it is insane that people from the same country and more or less, same ideology, (here i acknowledge, i am stretching it), can be so stupidly blind as to continue to act no better than 2 year olds. even at the political level.
i guess that in my mind this goes to prove that politicians are the lowest possible that the human being can strive for.
in addition, their followers are no better than mere sheep that cannot possibly think on their own account.
when are you people going to grow up?
when are you going to realize that shouting louder than your opponent, the best you can achieve is never be listened and never be taken serious.
your attitudes are deepening the division that it already is evident in this country. continue to shout over the other is only going to worsen the situation.
if i were you i would step back a bit, re-read the entire set of exchanges and reconsider.
start by reading the thread header at the LWP. it is very clear, they even give you an alternative place where if you want to debate an issue, you may go there.
instead, you have proceeded to infuriate one another an issue an insult that was uncalled for.
i know you are a thinking and reasonable man. i know so because i have read other posts by you in financial matters. frankly i was surprised you reacted in the way you did in this instance.
i will even say that as a token show of my ideology, i would agree with you in terms of gun ownership. no i do not own a gun, but i am willing to say that banning them is not the best idea. yet, in the same breath, i can say that not putting some sort of intelligent debate on the table in reference to the sale of assault riffles or clearly "military assault efficiency type weapons" is a little stupid in the face of what is going on amongst the youth in this country.
i am NOT proposing a specific law. i am simply saying, something needs to be done, in order to curb the current insanity.
in the interest of full disclosure, i will say that i voluntarily refrain from the LWP because i posted a joke that was not taken well, as in the humorous context i intended it, in short, it and was not "liked" by the locals.
instead of engaging in a public debate, i simply re-read the thread header, and expressed my apology and left. end of story.
i really do not want to engage neither you nor anyone else in this "debate" or anything similar, as my time is more valuable. i.e. i rather spend it reading investment related issues.
what forced me to post this is the insult to Poet above.
i know you are a reasonable person. i know, in person, you would have never said that. and i know, in person if i had been present and you would have said it, i would have politely asked you to apologize.
and i am sure you would have, because i know you are someone of quality in the human being department.
