Post this here too Parker - I do have a call in to ACN to c how they gettin on, whether or not the California electrical system and deregulation in general is going to benefit them. But I wud expect so. U c ACN has developed a very capable system of fixing infra red cameras, digital photography and GPS to helicopters which can then fly the high voltage electrical transmission lines. Then using pattern recognition techniques they can do fault analysis on the transmission line. This is really cool technology and they actually won the EPRI competition for having the best system. I thot their stock wud do better over the past year, but as everyone knows tech stox became wreck stocks, just look at companies like CMGI $160 bux to $5 bux, ooch askresearch.com. ACN has a parent company Mobile Data Systems MMD-t, and like all other hi tech suffered the same stock price runup and then collapse askresearch.com. So we c how this all rings out, ACN's technology is certainly precious, but whether or not it gets a big demand boost from the electrical power crisis in states like California or not, remains to b seen. ACN's technology is also applicble to other things like mapping corridors for fibre optical cables, mapping naval bases, mapping coastlines to update data, monitoring oil and gas pipelines, and they did have a contract with some forestry people to detect insect incursions like the spruce budworm.
Might hear tomorrow, altho might also b busy watch PLM-v as perhaps they been doin their gas flow testing over the weekend |
