just to piggyback on tc's post, the w98 shutdown fix from ms is just one of several things you can try to remedy a hanging prob. i've heard many people say that the ms fix doesn't change anything. but i like to always recommend that a user at least start with mister softee's patch.

if you go that route and still have probs, let us know.
