PCCW Eyes Stake of Indian's Pacific Netinvest for US$948,633 Jan 08, 2001 - 08:57:17 HKT Quamnet News Service Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. (0008), Richard Li's Internet and telecoms company, said it proposes to acquire 49 percent of an Indian company Pacific Netinvest (PNI) for US$948,633. PNI is majority owned by Siddhartha Ray, a former director of PCCW's indirectly owned Pacific Convergence Corp (India). PCCW said the acquisition will enable it to further benefit from the anticipated growth in Ray's majority-owned company Data Access (India) Ltd. - the Indian provider of PCCW's Internet and cable-based services Network of the World (NOW).
