Paul,

I'll own up to being a klutz when it comes to finding files that I download. Setting up a folder for downloads seems to be the preferred method. But personally I've used the download to Desktop method...I like it. The download results in a file being placed on your(my) Desktop in the form of an icon. Even I can find that....on a good day :)

I usually leave the icon on the Desktop for a couple of days after I've done what I want with it...then I drag it over to the recycle bin to tidy up the Desktop. Not the geekster approach, but it works for me.
