Jack,

I met Nakamura first time around 1994/1995 before he became famous! Nakamura is a genius! If you want to know about the technical details of blue LEDs, white LEDs, violet LEDs, lasers etc and how to make them, and also the general background then the book Nakamura and myself wrote is a pretty good compilation.
