Earlie it does indeed. the Japanese banking system remains a huge dark cloud on the horizon...and stands as a big reminder as to how asset/credit bubbles ultimately resolve (or don't resolve as it were). i expect the Japanese banking mess to end in a manner not unlike what happened to US banks at the tail end of the '30's depression, with a wave of failures and consolidation. this is in fact necessary to bring the Japanese economy back to a solid footing from whence it can expand once more. they need a clean slate so they can start over.
