I started to say that about women, and decided I wouldn't go there in that post, but you are so right! There is still a lot of resentment from females toward strong women and I will confess I have to remind myself sometimes that women who are direct and honest are not necessarily hard or mean. I think part of the reason I suffer from political MPD is that I came of age in the late 60s-- A lot of my generation had to make the transition from one era to the next and it left us in a variety of confused conditions: some clinging to the traditional roles they had been raised to believe in, others rejecting the roles completely, and sadly jettisoning pieces of themselves that were important to them as individuals just because they were identified with poor traditional June Cleaver, others never able to integrate the two comfortably or completely, but doing a sort of situational juggling act. It was a peculiar and challenging time to become an adult, when suddenly the goals we had been blithely moving toward,what we thought being a successful female adult meant, no longer existed. The ground shifted pretty dramatically under us.
