would you venture to give a specific "range" of the low ?

i am not attempting to "put you on the spot",

Gee thanks. It's so hard to try and forecast where the NASDAQ will bottom. We've wrung out most of the real crazy excesses from areas like the internet group, but every time I try and put a value on companies like Cisco and EMC, I still think they have a ways to fall.

That said, you never get the really good companies at the price you want them. I remember buying "good companies" after the 87 drop and thinking they could easily go 20% lower. I'm glad I didn't wait for an "ultimate" low then and probably won't this time.

So, with all those hedges, I'll say 2000 is a nice round level.
