Terrapin: Nokia has many strengths. No question.

There are a couple of current challenges though.

While the GSM market is huge and growing, and GPRS will no doubt be adopted throughout that market, there are two other important wireless markets. One is TDMA where Nokia is doing well and is likely to continue to do so. The other is CDMA where Nokia seems to be determined to issue press releases and "statements" but actions consistent with those seem difficult to find. Hope that will change.

And if data is the key to future wireless, then GSM/GPRS seems only an interim solution. It will happen of course, and it will be improved, but the technological limits are real. So the question becomes what happens next?

Will that be EDGE? Will Nokia go all out for EDGE?

This year will tell us.

Best.
