Large-cache Xeons running at 700 MHz are still being sold at close to $2,000 a pop. Compare that to the current 700 MHz Pentium III, which is being sold for $150. I don't know what the heck you mean by "incremental price for Mustang derivatives." If, for example, AMD had some 4-way SMP server design wins, Mustang could have easily been sold for over $1,000 per CPU.

Even in this current market slowdown, server sales are still strong. The 'Droids are pretending that "no one really cares about servers," when in actuality, servers are one of the few market segments that are still experiencing healthy sales.
