CTO Bill Weeks comments on Motorola's set-top box Motorola announced contract win in Canada: siliconinvestor.com Bill Weeks responded to an e-mail query about the Streamaster 5000, which got posted on Yahoo: messages.yahoo.com "We have been attempting to find the commonality in our two development programs that could lead to a more unified solution, but we have some fundamental differences of opinion on cost, features, microprocessor/SAR, decoder technology, and operating system." More details are in the post, and it's a very interesting read. Motorola owns a significant stake in NXTV, btw. Personally, I'm inclined to agree with Weeks that NXTV's approach makes more sense. RP
