Glenn, re. 'net sales'. Unless they've changed their methods from last quarter, 'net sales' includes shipping charges and returns, and was used in their October press release and 10Q.

SEATTLE, WA—October 24, 2000—Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced net sales for the third quarter of 2000 were $638 million, an increase of 79% over net sales of $356 million for the third quarter of 1999.

(net sales per the Oct 10Q were 637,858,000)

SEATTLE, WA—Jan. 8, 2001—Leading online retailer Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) today announced that net sales for the December quarter of 2000 are expected to exceed $960 million
<edit>
Pro forma operating loss for the fourth quarter of 2000 is expected to be less than 7% of net sales.

Seems to me they've announced a pro forma operating loss of around .18c

Regards,
John
