Nobody is advocating anything. Democrats believe that gov't should keep it's nose out of a woman's uterus. a woman should be able to make her own choice based on her religious beliefs, her psychological background and her doctor's advice along with many other non-measurable factors. Her choice could be not to have an abortion but it should be HER choice not the gov't imposing it's will.

I know a scientist that took immature neuron cells from a human embryo and stimulated them genetically to develop into mature human neurons in tissue culture. They are now being used in clinical trials to replace cells in the brains of people that were victims of strokes. Many of these people are regaining many skills lost as a result of the stroke.

The second application will be Parkinson's disease and I believe that there is great hope that this treatment could be used also for individuals with spinal cord injuries. Of course........maybe everyone against the use of these tissues in research should declare that they and their families should never receive any benefit from this type of treatment.
