Ditech Communications Announces Revised Revenue and Earnings Outlook biz.yahoo.com Ditech's revised estimates reflect the company's estimated impact of two principal factors. First, Ditech's new OC-3 Echo Cancellation product, which the company expected to ship in volume at the end of Q3, has been delayed and is now expected to ship in the first part of Q4. The delay was due to unexpected engineering and testing difficulties at the final stages of product development and to an unanticipated shortage of certain critical optical components. Second, Ditech has experienced an unexpected slowdown in infrastructure spending by its customers, and the company is unable to predict when or if strong market demand will resume. Ditech expects the problem with the shortage of OC-3 optical components to diminish substantially in Q4, but the second and dominant factor, the slowdown in infrastructure spending, continues to affect the company's outlook for sales in both this quarter and Q4.
