But where a long bagholder might finally give up and sell out at a 50% loss. . . .a short-seller equally married to their play could lose 100%, 200%, 300% or more of their money. This is the only caution I will put out on this.

So true. I watched more than one reasonably seasoned and astute investor, who couldn't justify the AMZN business plan, get caught up in a short to financial ruin. Ultimately they may well be right but their portfolios didn't survive to see it.
