Hartcourt Named Exclusive Distributor of ThinkAccess(TM) Wireless E-mail for China
January 09, 2001 08:02:00 AM ET

ThinkersGroup Partnership Provides Chinese Web-To-Wireless Solutions For Corporate and Individual Users

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hartcourt Companies Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: HRCT; Frankfurt: HCT), www.hartcourt.com, announced today that it has finalized its agreement with ThinkersGroup, a pioneer in Web-to-Wireless Technologies, to establish an exclusive marketing partnership. Under the agreement, Hartcourt and its subsidiaries, including StreamingAsia and SinoBull Financial Group, will receive exclusive rights to market ThinkersGroup's revolutionary products and solutions in Greater China, including Hong Kong.

The Hartcourt-ThinkersGroup partnership provides a comprehensive, secure, cost-effective, reliable, easy to adopt, deploy and manage, Chinese web-to- wireless solution for any small to large enterprise. ThinkersGroup will set up their ThinkAccess(TM) wireless e-mail and ThinkMotion(TM) Chinese language web-to-wireless service to allow Hartcourt to offer this service to their existing and prospective customers in Greater China.

Wireless users connect to ThinkAccess(TM) via a web server for direct access to their underlying mailbox, eliminating the synchronization problems and security risks inherent with other solutions that use a separate wireless mailbox. This allows users to access the exact same mailbox from both the wireless and wired Internet. Hartcourt will be positioned to provide cost- effective, highly secure turnkey solutions to a wide range of private and government controlled businesses looking to evolve within Greater China's wireless Internet space. The ThinkMotion server platform is revolutionary in its ability to deliver content to countries using double byte character alphabets such as China and Japan.

In addition to StreamingAsia, Hartcourt subsidiaries Financial Telecom Ltd., UAC Stock Exchange Online Ltd., SinoBull Financial Information (Guo Mao) Wind Information Co. Ltd. and SinoBull Networks (Shangdi) are intending to use the ThinkersGroup platform of services to deliver financial content to their new and existing customers starting in June 2001.

Ray Barton, CEO and President of ThinkersGroup, stated, "In the existing wired internet, electronic mail is by far the most widely used application or technology, with over 95% of internet users using some type of electronic mail service. ThinkAccess(TM) is the most powerful, most cost effective e-mail solution for accessing your corporate e-mail from any wireless device. We are looking forward to working with Hartcourt and its subsidiaries to jointly deploy the best and most affordable Wireless e-mail and Web-to-Wireless solutions for China's market."

Dr. Charlie Q. Yang, CEO of Hartcourt commented, "Wireless phone usage is already extremely popular in China. There are over 50 million wireless phone users there today. These users are more familiar with wireless applications than Web site usage. ThinkersGroup has developed a product that can automatically convert a Web site into an information port that can be accessed by any wireless devices. People on the move, for example, can access anything they want on any Web site from a hand-held phone."

"We are particularly excited about the revenue generating opportunity presented through the marketing of the ThinkAccess'(TM) wireless e-mail solutions in China. This specific application will put us into a market leading position with a business model previously validated by Research In Motion, a Nasdaq listed company, in the North America market."
