You're trying to make my blood boil, aren't you? You brought up the **!!!^&$(&$*** teachers unions and the education bureaucracy! Vouchers, if implemented, would undoubtedly have their problems. But compared to the current disaster, how bad could they be? I believe the available education funding should be apportioned on a per-pupil basis and parents should be given ALL of that in the form of a voucher. Public schools should be privatized. Parents could use their vouchers for any school they want- -but only for education of their children. Some parents will undoubtedly send their kids to airhead schools; most will have better sense. I think the competition will improve schools, children, and teachers.
