Bargain Hunter, regarding Kodak, you're probably right. It would certainly be unusual for Kodak to take a position in a fast growing company that makes a key component for its digital cameras. I was merely forwarding what still seems to be nothing more than rumor.

However, there are other indications that the idea of Kodak taking a position in SNDK is not so far fetched. Kodak has been a major buyer of compact flash type memory units from Lexar. Lexar probably will be unable to continue making these units unless it can command a higher selling price. Kodak is in danger of losing a supplier that undoubtedly charged less for flash memory than SanDisk. What choice will Kodak have now? If I were Kodak, I would hasten to lock in a more reliable source, and at the same time I would hedge on price increases in flash memory units by taking a position in the company most likely to benefit from those increases. Pardon me if I think rationally on this, and if Kodak doesn't.
