Once you get that puter working, get drive image and take an image of that partition. If you don't have another partition to store it on, create one with partition magic. Next time you have a problem, just restore the image.

My back up routine uses 2 hard drives, and drive image 4. I never have problems that a full restore fixes. That's about 20 minutes downtime on a hard drive that has 6 GIGs of programs and data on it. Try that with a tape back-up and your restore would be measured in hours, not minutes.

I back up critical data daily as well....every DAY.
