this just in: LIGAND BREAKS 100 FOR FIRST TIME La Jolla, CA (FutureWire) -- June 2, 1999 -- Ligand Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: LGND) topped most analysts' recommended lists with more strong buys today as the price hit an all-time high of 104 1/8. Some analysts are now forecasting Ligand prices in the mid-150's by year's end. "This is going to be a monster," said one Merrill Lynch analyst, whose own firm yesterday purchased 500,000 shares. The sounds of trucks backing up to loading docks up and down Wall Street could be heard this morning as investors continue the Ligand buying frenzy. * * * * * * We can dream, can't we?
