Jeffrey, aren't you near a Frye's? I visited the SanJose store,
maybe it was exceptional, but there they did know the merchandise, which was quite varied (even boxes of 3com cards). Once a few years back I asked the guy at the terminal if they had SCSI drives (none of which they had on shelves) he came back with a three-year old price (ie $400 for a few hundred MB). Otherwise best to try mail order, 'cept the occasional purchase of a PC game for a fling to support the local retailers. I found one guy who sold (through a real store) old notebook memory by searching "DELL MEMORY LAPTOP" or something in Dejanews.
