Anyone who thinks there is not an energy crisis also thinks that the Democrats were "destined" to win the election.

There has been a void of active exploration and research and development in many of our resource sectors. As much as people want cell phones, PCs, and DVDs, no one wants to pay one red cent more for necessities like heating, water, food. Strange?

Consumerism drives our North American economy, and so the rest of the world now joins in the party. Without reinvesting in the raw materials and energy needed to make the products we "need" then we run into trouble.

It is too bad that our society does not comprehend that the Sony, Wal-Mart, The Gap etc. do not necessarily have mankind's best interests at heart. Meanwhile, energy companies have been depicted as evil. I will tell you, like many things in life, the need for energy, and the ability to pay for it are necessary evils.

Reinvest on a level platform. The dot com billionaires have sold their shares and are driving Ferrari's and do not care to find renewable resources. Instead, they are laying off thousands of people who still cannot afford their heating bills.
