You are correct. One of the article I read mentioned the coalition is striving to "have a standard that equals or exceed RDRAM in early 1998" (close but not exact words). From what I know, SyncLink DRAM use separate paths for command and data, while RDRAM uses the same path. That is one of the technology advantage of SyncLink DRAM.
