Wit analyst downgrades QCOM
--12:27 pm - By Tomi Kilgore
Qualcomm (QCOM: news, msgs) is trading $3.75, or 5.1 percent lower, at
$69.50. Analyst Matthew Hoffman at Wit SoundView lowered his rating on the
stock to a "hold" rating from a "buy," and lowered his price target to $75. He also
trimmed his fiscal 2001 and 2002 revenue estimates to $2.645 billion and $3.215
billion, respectively, from $2.842 billion and $3.434 billion. Hoffman attributed his
moves to increasing pessimism over the development of handset markets over
the next few quarters.
