Eric,

do you really think that Republicans don't care about the environment at all? John McCain does. But on "open access" -why should we have a park system that keeps people from visiting? Do Colorado residents see a huge threat to the outdoors from a few new ski lodges, or is the real fear a giant influx of new residents from say, CA?

McCain isn't President, Bush is. The National Parks are jam packed with visitors. Allowing 4x4's onto sensitive public land is an unmitigated disaster.

Have you flown over Colorado at night recently? There are very few places where there is more than a mile between lights. Wildlife habitat is being destroyed at a remarkable rate.

The memories of Reagan, Watt and Burford don't die easily. It appears that Bush is headed down the same environmental path as Reagan, which isn't surprising because all of his other ideas are stolen from Reagan as well.

BTW: The vast majority of people in Colorado live on the great plains. There is absolutely no need for growth in the mountains.

And of course, Bush is an idiot.
