Ross Systems Continues Actions for Return to Profitability
With Promotions and Reorganization.
ATLANTA, Jan. 10, 2001 - PRNewswire - Ross Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROSS), a leading provider of enterprise management software and e-business solutions for mid-market process manufacturers, today announced several promotions. Rod Jones has been promoted to President, Gary Nowacki to Vice President, North American Sales, and Verome Johnston to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Jones will assume full P&L responsibility for all International Operations as well as sales and marketing activities on a worldwide basis. Mr. Jones joined Ross approximately 3 years ago as Managing Director of the U.K. and was later promoted to Vice President of European Operations. Under his leadership, first Ross Systems U.K., then Ross Systems Europe steadily improved in profitability. ``Rod has our European group operating at the best level of profitability in five years,'' said Ross Systems' CEO J. Patrick (Pat) Tinley. ``He is now chartered to bring his management talent and discipline to bear in improving the company's profitability worldwide.'' Mr. Jones is a Mechanical and Production Engineer and qualified as a Certified Engineer from Mid-Kent College-UK.
Mr. Nowacki joined Ross Systems eight years ago as an Account Executive and within one year was the top sales producer in North America. He was promoted to Eastern Region Sales Vice President and his region achieved consistent top performance, both in sales and in customer satisfaction. He later became Vice President of eCommerce Strategies and Initiatives, resulting in the Resynt eCommerce product line, numerous sales, and 100% referenceability for those customers using the Ross eCommerce solutions. ``Gary Nowacki understands our market, our prospects, and our customers better than any other sales executive I know,'' said Tinley. ``We are now beginning to see our market return to more normal buying patters, and I am confident in Gary's ability to take advantage of this improving sales environment.'' Mr. Nowacki is a graduate of Lawrence University and is certified at the Fellow Level (CFPIM) by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).
Mr. Johnston joined the company in July 1998 as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Vice President of Finance in August 1999. ``Verome has demonstrated a sharp focus on the bottom line and is exactly the kind of financial executive we need keeping tight controls on all cost and financial planning aspects of the business,'' said Tinley. Immediately prior to joining the Company, Mr. Johnston served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of North America for Sunds Defibrator where he had been employed since June of 1991. Prior to that, Mr. Johnston was employed with Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Johnston maintains a CPA certificate in Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Accounting and Finance from Valdosta State University.
