The virtual identity will change in the near future. My point, in addition to being abnoxious, is to attempt to avoid some of the incestuousnessness that some have observed here. Thus as suggestions appear on the thread, or as I come across some little (or big) gem, I'll try to be more flexible in incorporating them. In fact, I plan to avoid the stocks I view to be most endorsed by the SI crowd.

The replacement of MLNM with HDIIW is one example of my approach.

I suppose the real goal is to see if a nimwit like myself can perform as well as the vaunted VD...thus giving some support to my stock-selection-within-a-sector-by-dart theory. I subscribe to the hardly popular stance that if an investor would have gone into 2000 holding a basket of BTs chosen by misinformation and ignorance, he/she would have had a performance similar to those portfolios chosen by ‘experts’. And this performance would have greatly exceeded the ‘experts’ if the investor had decided, in July, after achieving breathtaking returns, to sell even a fraction of his/her holdings.

Abnoxious.
