VECO nice one.. January 18-----> Earnings for NTIQ. We go with the trend on this one here. I found myself long some of the best 'short plays of the year' today and as NTIQ moves closer to earnings the volatility will register like a geiger counter above a plutonium compound. If NTIQ continues up in "Anticipation" it will clunck close to earnings or soon after. You have to remember the "Anticipatory Upswing" in the next two weeks is going to be exaggerated before earnings are announced, so prevailing strategies have to be adjusted accordingly. Don't fight any trend. Have the long term objective in sight sure. But why give up short term gains on the long side? JNPR was powering down this morning after a downgrade and market internals plus the P/E of JNPR all supported a morning short but if you didn't wait for 9:50 to 10:10 you would have shorted and covered before JNPR hit Pike's Peak and finally retreated for both a long and short (or just a short if you were so inclined).
