Doug, I'd just be happy if MSFT bought them in a 1:1 stock swap! (seriously, I think you are overestimating a few things). 1. The patent expires in 6 years. 2. Only the exchange of data for dollars is governed. (In retrospect, however, I feel that DATA will become much more valuable as the years go by.) 3. I agree that the bloodsucker connotation is unfair. It is their right to demand payment for their patent. What firm doesn't??
