Global Network Reports 4th Quarter Update
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 2001--Global Network Incorporated (OTCBB:GNNU - news) the first online geo-targeted newspaper advertising network servicing the needs of national advertisers and local newspapers, announced today an update on milestones achieved during the 4th quarter of its fiscal year 2000.
Significant milestones included the implementation of a national holiday campaign for a new client, an increase in interest from major offline and online advertisers, and the addition of a new board member, Mr. David Altschiller a veteran advertising executive at Hill, Holliday, a division of the Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE:IPG - news).
Global Network provided MeetSomeone.com, an online personals service, with a national campaign that was the most successful in MeetSomeone's operating history, adding 1,000 new members to the site's roster. Global Network's GNI System was able to place this complex national geo-targeted campaign in less than an hour, as compared to the weeks it would have taken a traditional media buyer. Global Network was chosen for the project as a result of the Company's ability to implement the campaign expeditiously.
Experiencing growing interest in its proprietary services, Global Network reported that it currently has over 70 Requests for Proposals (RFPs) with leading advertisers such as Coca-Cola, Verizon, CIT, and Japan Air.
``We are pleased with the level of interest we have received from potential advertisers. Each ad campaign we implement allows us to showcase our unique services and our proprietary technology to a broader range of potential clients. Moreover, as we see continued shake out in the dot-com advertising sector, we are pleased that a majority of our RFPs are from traditional offline businesses that have long operating histories,'' commented Mr. Jim Mason, President and CEO of Global Network.
