Scooter ... called a buddy of mine over in Dallas last evening who is gainfully employed with the EvilEmpire MSFT ..... funny, I can NEVER type the symbols for Microsoft with thinking of American Tobacco/Lucky Strike .... LSMFT ...... hehehehe but I digress (again) he said, and reminded me that he'd already told me this .... hehehehe..... pull up the System Configuration Utility program ... go to the Start Up tab .... and uncheck everything except for System Tray and Scan Registry ... then Apply .. then OK ... then reboot ... anything that reloads and gets checked ... for example my McAfee Scanx did reload/recheck itself (twice as a matter of fact on Mare's box here) as I did leave the TKinkade ScreenSaver program *(know what is good for me on THAT one) ... the ones that do reload are instructed to in the Autobatch and Config Sys stuff .... don't know that I want to get into THAT with you without being on the phone or in person ..... LOL anyway ... as I'm flipping through the posts on SI this morning before I woke you up from your beauty sleep... hey ... Leland is over on the Dream thread going through this same step with the cow .... funny ..eh? anyway .... there you are... now go do it .... start run type in msconfig ok startup tab Maximize to full screen the ones that are checked are the ones loading at startup uncheck all except for the ones I said above apply ok reboot just so you feel SAFE and COMFORTABLE ... you can REcheck the boxes and reboot and get back where you were ... I got Mare's box up to 93percent free on bootup now .....
