I can see that quotas may be reverse discrimination, but in applying quotas the goal is reversING discrimination. Unfilled quotas could be used as evidence of discrimination if only the ratio of qualified applicants by race were equal to population race percentages, but it's not, is it, so that is a problem in and of itself.

Affirmative action is a leg up. I don't need one. I can give one.

Steven suggested that "advantage (be) distributed purely on the basis of economic status" But then it's not called affirmative action, is it?
