Hi Gary, the 1998 eps estimates for fiscal 1998 range from .10 to .42 with the mean estimate of .27. These numbers certainly will be important but equally important will be the sustained growth rate thereafter. Also as an example the 1998 eps from first boston have factored in 1.57 of R&D which will be somewhat figured into the price by discounting back to the present 1999 or the year 2000 earnings that will include the benefits of R&D. Montgomery Sec has a one year target of $52 for Idec by discounting the future potential earnings to next years value.
