Rox, Certainly, the MSM5000 did turn out that way. The 5100 doubles the data rate, and so
its an agressive chip: I would guess the most difficult thing is to increase voice capacity and
the second most difficult to increase data--the 5000 attempt both.

The 5105 is a huge step up over existing market, since it is "PC ready", and will support
multimedia and flash memory--in addition to all the 1X features. I wonder how many
manufacturers will include a SIM reader in order to provide music?

It looks pretty crowded in the next year: 1X deployments in 2nd half of 2001 and HDR in 1st
half of 2002--plus performance boosts on 1X.
The role of the 5100 (commercially, not technical) is going to have to fit within this
environment.

But better too fast than too slow.
