Coot. With this MSM5105 chip announcement, it looks like 1X is here for real and in strength as far as availibility, ease of product design, features, and the SIM card capability that the Asians wanted. I am relieved. Also we see everywhere evidence that the supposedly competing GPRS devices just can't achieve the data rates promised. Aparently they have been overhyped successfully and now the operators that accepted the hype and laid real money down will get screwed as 1X leapfrogs GSM making it difficult for operators to recoup their investment. With SPRINT's 1X contracts let recently, it appears that they see nothing preventing 1X from rolling out and meeting their expectations. Waiting for VOD commitment in the US. JohnG
