I believe that is the reason for duds in the north. There is a strong fault shown trending approx east to west that runs through this area. On an OGS map it shows considerable displacement to the west although none was shown in area of drilling. I'm guessing that was due only to mapping and large area of map.

Also there is another fault trending approx. NNE that appears to fragment about the area of northern most drilling and intersects the east-west trending fault. Again sketchy due to nature of map but gives impression of choppy, fragmented ground in this northern sector.
