Pierre. What we see is !X going operational and the much hyped and widely purchased GPRS struggeling to do 26K versus the claimed 154K for !X. Head to head competition between the two will be devistating unless NTT's i-mode makes the difference. Further, QCOM promises a Radio One Zero intermediate frequency version of CDMA tchnology by the end of 2001 cutting a lot of cost out of handsets using QCOM technology and again maintaining their reputation as the leading CDMA chip maker if it really works.

The outlook is good. NOK and the Europeans appear to be on a path that will cause them to continue to fall behind in innovative applications for 3G.
