Qtek Wins Saab Contract

CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2001--Quintek Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:QTEK - news) today announced that its Swedish subsidiary, Qtek AB, was awarded a three year contract from Saab Bofors Support AB, a division of Saab AB (OM:SAABB).

Under this contract, Qtek AB will convert Saab's internal digital files into aperture card media for distribution, reference and long term storage of engineering drawings. Although the full potential of this contract is unknown at this time, Qtek AB estimates the first phase will require the production of more than 500,000 aperture cards.

Aperture card production will be facilitated using multiple Quintek 4300 systems and related support equipment. Quintek's recently released software application (QuinPlot) has a built-in capability to accommodate aperture card production on multiple Q4300 systems and will be used as a key component for this high volume application.

Qtek AB specializes in retrieving customer files from the Internet or CD ROM, converting the information into aperture card media, archiving the cards at its conversion center, and distributing the cards per customer requirement.

Qtek AB has previously completed smaller conversion contracts from several Bofors divisions, including, Bofors Missiles, Bofors Weapon Systems and Bofors Carl Gustaf AB. Quintek currently holds a 49 percent equity position in Qtek AB. Additional information can be found at www.qtekab.com.
