Questions:

Weisel partners:

RDRAM price and premium what is it now and what is the timeframe for reducing the premium?

Tate:

"It's in the 50% range or more at this time but strong motivation exists with the current producers to ramp RDRAM for the P4. It'll be below 20% in 2H01 and below 10% as we go into 2002."

Has the vol been the biggest restrictor of getting this cost down?

Tate: No, it's the learning curve for new technology.

Mark Edelstone;

1. What were the legal expenses in q1 vs what you expect in q2?

Harmon: North of around 4M in the q with actions to going to trial this q we expect that to increase to 4.5-5.0M. Reason for more than we expected was the litigants drove up the costs by their actions

2. What is the current head count nd increase expected for q2?

Harmon - 175 now and have requisitions to add 10 more in the q

3. Looking at defered revs is it fair to assume that the only changes were Samsung and Mitsubishi?

Harmon - Yes offset by the rev taken during the q

4. 1st time that the deferred revs were recognized?

Harmon - Yes

Matt Gabel -

Are any negotiations going on with the litigants now.

Tate: That is confidential between anyone we negotiate with and us BUT (he reiterated strongly) we are always ready to negotiate true to the day of the trial

Scott Williamson JPM H&Q

Comment on hdtv in japan and 7 stations progress in broadcasting there?

Tate: sales going well and hdtv broadcasts are taking place and are being well received there

Roll out in the US?

Tate - can take a long time in the us because of govt actions

Nutmeg Securities:

Can you quantify Samsung and Mitsubishi royalties?

Harmon - No, that's confiential.

Tate - Lok at market share date from Dataquest or ?? to get a good relative idea.

Eruc Chan:

Was there an impact of lower SDRAM pricing on royalties and what effect will there be going forward?

Harmon: Hard to do - can only plan the trends and let you draw your own conclusions.
Dec q sdram prices are less but the offset is the increase in volume and a good portion of royalties is from controllers and not SDRAM and of course also from RDRAM.

Gabel:

What were avg sdram prics during the q for royalties?

Harmon: 13-16 range during the q

Tate:

In summary, We have been having a mid q conf call to keep everybody informed and we will continue to do that.
