Horgad, It is hard to believe that platinum is cheaper than palladium now. Anyhoo, if you are buying stocks, there is no advantage to platinum taking market share from palladium, as both are produced by the same companies. Rhodium, too. Where are the rhodium converters?
If you are buying futures, I think a long platinum/short palladium spread is viable now. I have no long platinum or palladium futures at this time. Or options on them. They may run further, but I think industrial use, including autos, is turning against them right now and it isn't a good time to pay top tick. BTW, I do have some platinum group interest in my ASA holding, which is a full position in my cap app portfolio and ASA option spreads are full positions in my maximum income portfolio. |
